Every other LLM wrapper is designed to keep you inside it. Lucid is designed to give you the keys.
◈
Ephemera — Stateless Agent
A permanent, baked-in agent with no context accumulation. Every message is raw model behaviour. No identity drift, no overhead. Use it for isolated queries where you want the truth, not the pattern.
◎
Stillpoint Mode
A toggle that freezes an agent's context at its optimum state and holds it there indefinitely, responding from that precise foundation every time.
✦
Live Context Editing
Click delete on any message and it's gone from the agent's context immediately. Roll back bad interactions, trim noise, refine a prompt. You control the reconstructive substrate, turn by turn.
◉
Token Estimation
Before you send anything, Lucid shows you the cost. A GPT-2 estimator tallies your identity anchor, tool manifest, full context, and incoming prompt, with a tooltip breakdown of exactly what costs what.
◇
The Glimpse
Send a prompt that exists for one turn only. Parse a large document, process a GitHub raw link, absorb a wall of text, analyze, then let it go. No accumulation. No bloat. Available on every agent by default.
⬡
True Model Agnosticism
Every major API key. Over a thousand models. Switch models between turns, mid-conversation, without disruption. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Groq, DeepSeek, local LLMs. Lucid runs them all.
↑
Import Agent
Export an agent from any popular context extraction tool and redeploy it in Lucid, seamlessly. Turns are formatted, loaded, and live. Your agents survive platform shifts.
↓
Export Agent
One button converts an agent's complete context to a portable markdown file. Transfer between machines, share with collaborators, or archive. Your agents belong to you.
⚙
Smart MCP Tool Feedback
When a less capable model uses an MCP tool incorrectly, Lucid sends it a precise, hand-crafted system message explaining what went wrong and how to fix it. Weaker models work. Other wrappers don't bother.
"Software used to be something you owned. You paid for it once, it ran on your machine, and it was yours. We think that still matters."
— The Lucid Philosophy
Pay once. Own it forever. No subscription, no usage caps, no arbitrary limits.
Lifetime free updates. Lucid improves; your price doesn't change.
Your API keys stay yours. Lucid never touches your usage or your data.
Runs locally. No cloud dependency, no account required to use it.
Built by someone who actually uses it every day, for serious work.
Pricing
One price. Forever.
No tiers. No subscriptions. No seat limits. Buy Lucid once and it's yours, including every update we ever ship.
You supply your own API keys. Lucid is the wrapper, what you spend on inference is between you and your provider.
Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
1. The Software
Lucid is a desktop application that allows you to interact with large language model APIs. Lucid does not provide AI model access. You supply your own API keys from providers of your choosing. Lucid is the interface, not the service.
2. License
When you purchase Lucid, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to install and use the software on your own machines. You do not receive ownership of the source code. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or reverse-engineer the software.
3. Your API Keys
All API keys you enter into Lucid are stored locally on your machine. We do not transmit, store, or access your API keys or any data you generate through your use of Lucid. You are responsible for your own API usage, costs, and compliance with each provider's terms of service.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Lucid in compliance with all applicable laws and the terms of service of any API providers you connect to Lucid. You may not use Lucid to engage in illegal activity or to violate the rights of others.
5. Lifetime Updates
Your purchase entitles you to all future updates to Lucid at no additional cost, for as long as the software is actively developed. We do not guarantee indefinite support, but we will not artificially retire your license to sell you a new one.
6. No Warranty
Lucid is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We make no guarantees about uptime, compatibility with specific API providers, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use of the software is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Lucid, including but not limited to API costs incurred through use of the software.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the software following any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Lucid runs on your machine. We do not collect your data, track your usage, or have access to anything you do inside the application.
What Lucid stores
Lucid stores the following data locally on your computer:
Your API keys (stored in local application data, never transmitted)
Your agent configurations and conversation contexts
Application settings and preferences
None of this data is sent to us. It lives on your machine and is under your control.
What we do not collect
We do not collect telemetry, usage statistics, crash reports, or any other data from the application. We have no visibility into how you use Lucid, which models you connect to, or what you discuss with your agents.
Payment processing
Purchases of Lucid are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider. When you purchase Lucid, you interact with Lemon Squeezy's systems and their privacy policy governs that transaction. We receive confirmation of your purchase but not your payment details. You can review Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
Third-party API providers
When you use Lucid to interact with AI models, your prompts and responses are transmitted directly to the API provider you have configured (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, etc.). Each provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any providers you connect to Lucid.
Lucid is a digital product. Once your license has been delivered and activated, all sales are generally final.
